Inside Joke

While at my mother's house I was checking out one of her magazines when I ran across this cover. So if you look real hard you might find the inside joke here but I guess this is really aimed at my buddy Dan. Just wanted to let him know he might really be onto something more than a conspiracy theory :)

Kai gets baptized

Today Kai had his baptism and a large amount of the family came down from Rhinelander, over from Milwaukee, and up from Madison and Chicago. I was pleased to see so many came to join us on this special day. Mom, Dad, Sean, Paula, David, Carissa, and my Aunt and Uncle all stayed in a hotel last night. We had a good time watching Jasmine, Mel, and Hannah all chase each other around last night. The fun started when we all went out to eat at the Log Cabin in Baraboo. David found an inch worm on his person and showed the girls and they were thrilled with the little creature. The worm was set free and we ran back to the hotel to get the kids in the pool. The girls all went for a swim and seemed to enjoy themselves. Jasmine is doing so well with the water; she can be dunked and doesn't panic about it, which will help when it comes time to teach her how to swim.

Kai took the baptism well no crying or fussing, just quiet observation came from those little blue eyes of his. Mom says he is an old soul like my father and I, but only time will tell if that is true. He is such a good baby. I can only hope that Paula has a boy in January so he will have someone to play with too, Jasmine and Mel are so close in age they play really well together. There will be the same age gap between the new addition and Kai, so I am really hoping she has a boy.

I spent the last week in Rhinelander while Chris got to go to his conference (vacation) in Vegas. I didn't get as much done as I would have liked to but so it goes when you have two children. I decided to leave our cat Tim there for my parents to deal with for the next week or so before we come back up for Thanksgiving. The cat is neurotic if we leave him alone for any amount of time and traveling is stressful for him, so we decided it would be best for him to visit his other cat pals for the two weeks we are gone. Hopefully he doesn't eat my parents out of house and home. He out weighs all of their cats by at least five to twelve pounds depending on which cat you compare him to.

Mom threw her back out at the beginning of the the week so she was in a large amount of pain the whole time I was home. I wish I could have been more of a help, but there wasn't much I could do other then try to keep Jasmine from killing her back worse. In the last few years almost every time my mom has been sick or hurt herself I have just happened to be home to help out a little bit. I suppose it is kind of like her coming down here just before I had Kai and then me going into labor. It was the best possible situation she could stay here with Jasmine and take care of her while we were gone. It is funny how it seems to work that way with my mom and I.

Ka

Phenomenal... Indescribable... I wish I could describe Ka better than that but the show is absolutely indescribable other than it was definitely the best I have been to yet! If you get the chance defiantly check out Ka or any Cirque du Soleil! The show itself follows twins, a brother and sister, who early in the show are attacked and separated from one another. The entire show follows their epic journey focusing on both the good and evil side of humanity as they strive to find each other again.

Getting Lucky in Vegas

Tess (cousin) and I arrived in Vegas Monday afternoon after flying most of the day away. As I look back at Monday I think I should have bet the bank that night. It started after we arrived in Vegas, I was relating to Tess, as we were waiting for the luggage rack to start up, that it would be great if just one time our luggage was first. Not even a minute after I said that the conveyors start up and here comes our luggage, Wow that was easy! We walked outside bought a ticket on the shuttle sat down to find out we were pretty much the last ones and took off, from the sounds of it the others had been waiting for quite awhile for it to fill so they could leave.

A short while later we arrive at Mandalay Bay and walk into the main area and need to go up a level to check in, I walk up to a set of eight elevators and point at one and say that one is our ride, and ding it lights up and opens. Wow now that is power, this must just be a fluke! As we check in the guy behind the registration desk tells us that they overbooked so we would be getting upgraded and before he finished his manager walks up and tells him to change that and he looks over at us and tells us we are really getting bumped up. Cool, that works for me! We hop back onto the elevator and ride up to the 21st floor and walk around the corner to the hall that leads to our room. We are both curious about what type of room we have or if their suite really is just a nice name for a normal room. By the way these hall are freeking long! We are walking and walking thinking boy this figures they say we have a nice room and they send us about a mile from the elevators. Two hours later as we are nearing the end of the hall I am wondering where are room is, then all of a sudden I notice that hay we ran out of doors on each side... wait there is a door in the wall ahead of us and hay that is our number well cool I guess we are all the way at the end of the hall.

So we enter our room and all thoughts about how far we had to walked went out the window. One of the five eight foot wide wall to ceiling windows that are in our room. We have a huge living room which has two tv's one large screen and one normal with a stereo. Off each end of the living room is a master bedroom one for tess and one for me! Each master bedroom has a master bathroom all marble with a jucuzi in each. Wow well Tess doesnt have to worry about my snorning keeping her up, I could shout from my room and she wouldn't hear me all the way on her end. We literally take up the entire width of the hotel wing. If you look at the first picture we are the full wall and the bends on the side are our rooms.

Not only that but we have a perfect view down the strip and right across the way is the luxor pyrimid. I call it my night light because I cant bring myself to close the windows on such a cool view and if you are not aware the light on top of the luxor is so bright it is viewable from space! We decided to check things out and found that every time I called which elevator would open that one would be the one to arrive. We moved on heading down the strip checking out the sites and picking up our tickets for Ka. We had a great night followed by a long soak in the tub, the next day I would regret not stopping at the black jack table, I was on fire!
