The letter Me
I think it is universal knowledge that young kids say the darnedest things ranging from the profound to the hilarious. My dear daughter is no exception to this rule. Some of the things that come out of her mouth have caused me to chuckle uncontrollably. Her latest stroke of genious came from a conversation we were having while she was looking at her alphabet flash cards. It went something like this:
Jasmine: "Look Mama it is a unicorn."
Mama: "Yes Jas, that is a unicorn and that starts with U."
Jasmine: "With me!!!"
Mama: " No, it starts with the letter U"
Jasmine: "The letter ME!!!!"
So now the letter U is the letter me, and I can't seem to convince her differently.

New Floor
Since moving in to our new home almost a year ago, Shannon and I wanted to tear out the white carpet upstairs. Shortly after moving in we decided to save up so we could change it out for either laminate or hardwood floor. A couple week ago it became official. We now have a new laminate floor upstairs. The whole process took about two weeks from pulling out the old carpet, screwing down the subfloor, and putting the new laminate in. We owe a ton to Shaun who spent two weekends in a row visiting just to help us labor away. I hope to take some pictures in the next few days so I can give everyone a visual!
Our next big project will be the patio around the firepit outside. Can't wait to sit around it this summer enjoying a fire with friends!
Inspired by Dan's Craziness
Call it whatever you will but this morning when I read Dan's blog about the LOTOJA, I felt inspired. What is the LOTOJA you ask? Well it is simply a bike ride :) Well that is about the only thing that is simple. LOTOJA stands for LOgan (Utah) TO JAckson Hole (Wyoming). The ride runs about 206 miles long from Utah to Idaho to Wyoming. Oh yah... and did I mention that it is just one day of riding! But wait that isn't all, this ride runs twice as long as any single day ride I have done to this date and if that wasn't bad enough it runs through the mountains.
Crazy? Yes most likely! Lucky as Dan states in his blog, I have until September to get ready. This will be one of the largest challenges I have ever taken on! I am hoping it will inspire my goal to get in better shape and with the help of Dan I plan to do it well! So wish me luck, I plan to help fix this blog neglect and keep regular posts about my progress through the months.
